HEB UPDATE IN AUSTIN BUSINESS JOURNAL

No three letter combination is on the lips of Dripping residents more than HEB. Rumors of HEB delays, disappointment it's not an HEB Plus because there's not more stuff, and happiness it's not an HEB Plus because the rest is just stuff. It's all HEB, all the time. The Austin Business Journal has a new article on the Dripping HEB, reporting that our City Council voted in late March to approve HEB’s site development permit, but HEB "still needs a building permit and approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality" before its planned ground breaking in May. Quoting Jon Thompson, development coordinator for the city of Dripping Springs, the article notes that HEB "plans to have its 65,000-square-foot store open by Thanksgiving", and "will also have 9,600-square-foot retail space to lease to others and a fueling station, with an additional 20,000 square feet set aside for future expansion." ("A first for Dripping Springs: grocery store", Austin Business Journal, April, 24, 2009)

I cannot wait until I'm able to shop someplace locally that carries a variety of foods. I've tried to find things at Super S. I have. It's no better to me than the Shell station. :(
