HEALTH SERVICES IN DRIPPING AT THE NEW HAYS COUNTY PRECINCT 4 OFFICES

The Hays County Personal Health Department will be offering immunizations for children and adults at the new Precinct 4 government center, 195 Roger Hanks Parkway, the first Thursday of each month beginning May 7, 2009.  Per the Hays County Personal Health Department, the new facility is large enough to accommodate a wellness program like this. The County will be offering all vaccines required or recommended by the State of Texas for ages two months and up, including adults. However, travel vaccines are not being offered. Service will be on a first-come, first-served basis from 10:00AM to 3:00PM every first Thursday until further notice. Immunizations are available to children with or without a CHIP or Medicaid card. Adults who are uninsured or underinsured can qualify for the Texas Vaccine for Children program. Persons enrolled in any of the above programs should bring their eligibility card with them, as well as any available shot records. For additional information, please call the Hays County Personal Health Department at (512) 393-5520.

Note: This monthly immunization program in Dripping was in place long before swine flu and is not related to it. Speaking of, there are no known cases to date reported in Hays County. The Texas Department of State Health Services has a hotline staffed to answer questions from people about swine flu at 1-888-777-5320, and the agency’s web page includes updated statistics, swine flu information and links to the CDC.
