DRIPPING MONDAY: THE WEEK AHEAD

On Thursday, it's the official opening of the new Hays County Precinct 4 offices at 195 Rogers Hank Parkway in Dripping Springs, with public ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremonies, music, refreshments and discussions of sustainable building practices and native landscaping as well as expanded County services. From 5:00PM - 7:00PM.

The Heritage Gala for the Dr. Pound Pioneer Farmstead kicks off at 7:00PM on Friday on the grounds of the farmstead. Dripping locals have worked hard to bring in the big food guns for the event. Coupled with a remarkable wine and beer tasting, they have hit it out of the park. Tickets are $65 a person and dress is Hill Country Chic (our fellows will be wearing, for example, dark jeans, jacket and nice cowboy boots so don't let "gala" strike tux and fancy dress fear in your hearts). To learn more — including the final menu just posted — and to make reservations, visit drpoundpioneerfarmstead.com.

The 2nd Annual Mayfest in Driftwood is from 10:00AM - 4:00PM on Saturday on the grounds of the Driftwood United Methodist Church. The spring festival features music, food, vendors, and more.
We go to any event where Edith Eckols has made something for the bake sale. She did last year, and  we're checking on this year. In the meantime, learn more here (event PDF). The church is located at the intersection of Elder Hill Road and RR 150.

From 11:00AM - 4:00PM on Saturday, the 52nd Annual Henly Homecoming brings together Henly's past and current residents at Henly Baptist Church (Fellowship Hall). The first event was held in 1957 with 300 folks in attendance. After a dip for a few years, last year  the reunion ramped back up with 150 people celebrating the day. For more information visit henlyhomecoming.com.

The Dripping Springs Relay for Life benefiting the American Cancer Society starts at 6:00PM on Saturday evening and lasts until Sunday at 6:00AM. For more information, contact Debra Williamson at (512) 787-4238.
