ONION CREEK FARM STAND THIS FRIDAY!
Marianne reports that the lovely rain (1.91" last weekend) has made such a difference in the
garden! The chard and beet tops are huge and lush and the new lettuce sizing up.
Beans, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant were planted before the rain, and the
potatoes, are
coming back. Thusly, she will have a Farm Stand this Friday April 24, 3:00PM - 6:00PM.
Certified organic produce available this Friday will be:
Swiss Chard (bunched
Red Beets (with tops, bunched)
Small Gold Beets (with tops, maybe a few bunches)
Spinach (rinsed twice and bagged)
Red Russian Kale (bunched)
Turnip Greens (bulk)
Carrots (the rest of them)
Lettuce
Leeks
Shallots (possibly, she will decide by Friday if she will pick them)
Mint, Oregano, Garlic Chives, Rosemary
Also, fresh eggs from her happy Red Star hens, and grass-fed, hormone-free, local Red Barn Beef (ground beef and ground round, frozen 1 lb packages. More cuts available soon).
Pure Luck Grade A Dairy Award-winning Goat Cheeses:
Chevre (plain, red pepper, black pepper, mixed herb)
Ste. Maure (a soft-ripened, traditional French cheese..slightly sweet, dry flavor with a hint of bleu)
Del Cielo (a soft-ripened, Camembert type cheese...creamy, salty and delectable)
Onion Creek Farm is located at 1611 Creek Rd. Take Creek Rd. (aka County Rd. 190) or Roger Hanks Parkway south off of Hwy 290. If on Creek Rd., go approx 1 mile to a 'T' stop, take a left (joins Roger Hanks). Go approx 1/2 mile, come to one lane bridge, pause to allow oncoming traffic, cross carefully, take immediate left drive. Drive to right down to the barn and park on left, head-in.

I could write poetry about Onion Creek Farm carrots. They are the best I've ever tasted!
