HAYS COUNTY PRECINCT 4 INVITES PUBLIC TO OPEN HOUSE AT NEW OFFICES NEXT WEEK
The new Hays County Precinct 4 offices at 195 Roger Hanks Parkway in Dripping
Springs will be officially opened on Thursday, April 30, with public
ribbon-cutting and flag-raising ceremonies, music, refreshments and discussions
of sustainable building practices and native landscaping as well as expanded
County services. The event will take place from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
According to Precinct 4 Commissioner Karen Ford, we’ve needed this additional office space for some time. The new location will offer additional County services, such as a monthly immunization clinic and offices for adult and juvenile probation, and will also be available as a meeting space for community organizations that request it.
Precinct 4 offices, which also include Justice of the Peace, Constable, Tax Assessor-Collector, a Sheriff’s Department substation and Veterans Services, moved from their crowded, leased building on Mercer Street into the new site at the end of March. The new building has a welcoming lobby where customers can fill out paperwork, admire local art on the walls and appreciate the “green” efforts that went into the new building. The sustainable building design and features, including the alternative wastewater treatment system, rainwater collection system and native landscaping, will be explained at the grand opening event with the architect on site to answer questions.
Entertainment will be provided by the Dripping Springs High School Jazz Choir, a clarinet quartet from the Hill Country Community Band, and country singer-songwriter Chad Hudson, a native of the area. Local veterans will conduct a flag-raising ceremony, and refreshments will be served – staff members from Precinct 4 offices plan to share their favorite desserts.
For additional information about the event, contact Commissioner Ford’s office at (512) 858-7268.
