DRIPPING WEEKEND: EVENTS ON TAP

Friday evening, from 7:00PM - 9:00PM at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church - Church Hall (400 Post Oak Rd), you can "Ask the Doctor" your cancer questions. The free community event sponsored by Texas State University is an opportunity to share information and get answers. For more information about the event, contact Karen Candelas of the American Cancer Society at (512) 919-1886.

Starting today, Friday, and continuing Saturday and Sunday, one of Dripping's newest businesses, Ruby's Emporium, is holding its Grand Opening (Friday and Saturday 10:00AM - 5:00PM and Sunday from 1:00PM - 5:00PM). The antique store is located at 222 Hwy 290 (one block west of RR 12, in the same building as DanTay's). The event promises sales, drawings for daily door prizes, refreshments and giveaways. For more information, call (512) 858-4220.

It's Old Fashioned Easter Eggs at the Dr. Pound Pioneer Farmstead on Saturday. Cost is just $5 per child (accompanied by an adult), but enrollment is limited so, if you have not already done so, call Lauren at (512) 858-2251 to get your kids ages 6-12 signed up for this cute and clever event. Kids can create beautiful, old-fashioned Easter eggs with natural dyes and decorations made from herbs, vegetables, and plant material. The history of the Easter egg will be explored, and and a game played with eggs is on the goodtime schedule. Old Fashioned Easter Eggs is from Noon - 2:00PM, but stick around for a tour of the Pound House museum from 2:00PM - 3:00PM. If you've never visited the Pound House you are missing a true Texas treasure, and it's right here in Dripping Springs. Visit
drpoundpioneerfarmstead.com for more about the museum and directions.

Also on Saturday, Babble reader Leslie reminded us that the Arnosky Family farm stand, located at the intersection of RR 165 and RR 2325, is open from 9:00AM - 5:00PM. Just look for the big, blue barn!
