BELTERRA GRANTED PERMIT TO DISCHARGE TREATED WASTEWATER INTO BEAR CREEK
The Statesman is reporting that Belterra "was granted the first ever permit by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality today to discharge treated wastewater into a creek that feeds the Barton Springs portion of the Edwards Aquifer." The subdivision's effluent will discharge into Bear Creek. Per the report, two measures now in the Texas legislature "would essentially make the Belterra discharge permit the last of its kind". It's too bad they couldn't route the affluent back to the homeowner to use for irrigation.
