THE DRIFT INN WILD LIFE SANCTUARY "BABY SEASON" WISHES AND VALUABLE INFORMATION

The Drift Inn Wildlife Sanctuary in Driftwood is readying for "baby season" and is looking for item donations. The 501(c)(3) non-profit wildlife sanctuary "provides rescue, rehabilitation and release of orphaned, injured, and displaced wildlife". They see the majority of the animals in the spring and summer months during "baby season" (coming up), but they do rescues throughout the year.

Visit their website at
thedriftinn.org to learn more about what they do and their donation "wish list". Also, with baby season on the way, their site's section on "Found an Animal" provides valuable information for everyone in our area. This Babbler almost stepped on a tiny fawn last year while out picking dewberries (those spots work!) but, as The Drift Inn notes, "just because you see a baby alone does not mean it is abandoned! Mother's leave their babies for hours at a time to forage for food. It is possible to never see the mother." Learn what to do and not do for our local wildlife.
