HALLELUJAH! ONION CREEK FARM STAND OPEN THIS FRIDAY

Due to the ongoing drought, Onion Creek Farm Stand was not able to open this fall. But, thanks to Marianne's perserverance, outsourcing delivered water, and painstaking hand-watering, she has just announced there are some nice greens ready to be picked and eaten and the farm stand will be open this Friday from 3:00PM - 6:00PM. Depending on how much is harvested and sold, another farm stand might be possible in a few weeks, but for now we'll happily take what we can get. The farm stand this Friday will offer the following certified organic produce for sale:

Lettuce (greenleaf, romaine in various size heads)
Spinach (leaf-picked, deep green, robust, semi-savoy, rinsed and spun dry)
Swiss Chard (nice leaves, short stems)
Beets (golf-ball size, nice tops)
Cilantro
Arugula
(small leaves)
Radishes (this one is a maybe as they have been hit hard by the 20 degree mornings)

The farm stand will also have fresh eggs from the farm and locally raised and harvested Red Barn Beef (frozen) in ground beef (1 pound packages), steaks, and roasts.

Always the optimist, Marianne reports she has purchased more of the wonderful organic Red Thumb fingerling potato seeds to plant this month. Pray for rain!
